Standardisation Of Infrastructure In NAM
The standardisation of infrastructure is being done in National Ayush Mission basically following the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health Care Providers (NABH) standards and Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) along with specific State initiatives like the Kerala Accreditation Standards for Hospitals (KASH).
The standardisation includes the following:
- Proper waiting area with amenities.
- Lighting, fans and drinking water facilities.
- Signage boards to clearly define and display the services offered and the facilities.
- Feeding rooms.
- Wheelchair-friendly entrances and allied facilities like ramps, hand rails etc.
- Disabled toilets.
- Specialised therapy rooms.
- Bio-medical waste management system.
- Proper sanitation and patient safety arrangements.
