Homoeopathy is a system of alternative medicine that was developed in the late 18th century by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician. It is based on the principle of "like cures like," which means that a substance that can cause symptoms in a healthy person can be used to treat similar symptoms in a sick person.

In Homoeopathy, highly diluted substances derived from plants, minerals, or animals are used as remedies. These substances undergo a process called potentization, which involves dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking). Homoeopathic remedies are prepared in such a way that the original substance is diluted to the point where very few, if any, molecules of the original substance remain.

The underlying philosophy of Homoeopathy is that the diluted remedies stimulate the body's vital force or "self-healing" mechanism, promoting a natural healing response. Homoeopathic practitioners assess a person's physical, mental, and emotional symptoms to choose a remedy that matches the individual's unique symptom picture.
